Allah ArRabb الرب
The Meaning of Ar-Rabb, the Lord
Ar-Rabb is the owner who has full authority over his property. Ar-Rabb, linguistically means, the master or the one who has the authority to lead. All of these meanings are correct for Allah. When it is alone, the word Rabb is used only for Allah. As for other than Allah, it can be used to say Rabb Ad-Dar, the master of such and such object. Further, it was reported that Ar-Rabb is Allah’s Greatest Name.
Ar-Rabb is the One Who nurtures and sustains all of His servants through regulating the affairs and granting all types of favours and blessings. More specifically He is the One Who nurtures and sustains his sincere friends by correcting and purifying their hearts, souls and manners. This is why their supplications are frequently made with this Noble Name because they seek this specific nurturing.
Meaning of ar-Rabb, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al ‘Uthaymeen rahimahullaah states:
Rabb – meaning khaaliq (Creator) and Sovereign Owner and the One who controls; so He is the One who created the heavens and the Earth; and He is the One who owns the heavens and the Earth; and He is the One who controls the heavens and the Earth.
He, the Most High, said:
أَلاَ لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالأَمْرُ
Certainly creation and command are His alone. [Soorah al A’raaf (7) aayah 54]
And this is His being unique with regards to His creating and His controlling.
And He, the Most High, said:
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرضِ
And to Allaah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the Earth. [Soorah al Jaathiyah (45) aayah 27]
And this is His being unique in terms of sovereignty.

Bismilla: In the Name of Allah azza wa Jal
Bismillah before Wahi
In Ad-Durrul Manthur, Ibn Umar RA is reported as saying that surely, whenever Jibreel AS used to bring Wahi to Rasulullah SAW, he used to first recite:
Bismillah-rahmanir-rahim(In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful)
The reason for the above is as follows: in Bismillah there are 3 names of Allah SWT:
1) Allah SWT which is Allah's own name indicating that all projects can only be initiated by the will of ALLAH SWT.
2) Rahman (kind) which is his attributive name indicating that only Allah SWT can keep that project intact and existent (guarding it against destruction).
3) Rahim (Most Merciful) which is also his attribute name indicating that only Allah SWT can, through his mercy and grace, enable any person to derive benefit from that project.
This clearly proves that any action beginning with: Bismillah-rahmanir-rahim(In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful) Will be granted barakah (blessings) from the beginning till end
Bismillah before doing anything
It is for this reason that Rasulullah SAW used to recite: Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim(In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.) before doing any work.He SAW also advised the Ummah to do the same. For example, reading it before shutting the door, before putting out the light, before taking meals, before drinking water, before boarding any mode of transport
The Beauty of Islam
Islam is not confined only to the masjid and madrasah. It is a way of life. each and every aspect of a muslim's life is supposed to be deen. It is for this reason that Rasulullah SAW has shown the ummah simple little methods which would render each and every world affair of his to become deen and for which he will be rewarded. It is for this reason that saying: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim(In the name of Allah ,the most Gracious, the most Merciful.) before any action, will render that action into an ibadah for which the reader will be rewarded. Besides by saying: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim (In the name of Allah ,the most Gracious, the most Merciful.) before any action, one is suggesting that his every affair-weather small or big- can only be accomplished with the help and mercy of Allah SWT.
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim( In the name of Allah ,the most Gracious, the most Merciful.) Therefore every activity of a person will become ibadah.By doing this, he will draw closer to Allah SWT and distance himself from the accursed shaytan (devil). And by not doing this he will deprive none other than himself.
According to Ibn Abbas RA in Ad-Durrul Manthur, rasulullah SAW has said that people are unaware of the blessings of one ayah of the Holy Qur'an which was revealed to no one other than me and Sulaiman AS.

10 Ways to Gain Love of Allah أسباب جالبة لحب الله
Gain Allah’s Love For His Slave & Slave’s Love for Allah
(Ibn Qayim Al Jawzee)
- Reciting the Qur’an while pondering over its meanings and what is meant by it.
- Get closer to Allah by performing voluntary deeds after completing obligatory deeds. This is as is stated in a Hadith Qudsi: “My slave continues getting closer to Me by performing voluntary deeds until I love him.
- Continue to remember Allah under all circumstances, with our tongue, heart and actions. The extent of our love for Allah is determined by this.
- We should give precedence to what which Allah loves over what we love when we are overtaken by our desires.
- The heart being avid of Allah’s Names and Attributes and the heart roaming in that garden of knowledge.
- We should observe Allah’s kindness, goodness and bounties, both hidden and open.
- Our hearts should be soft, subdued and meek before Allah.
- Being alone with Allah during the time when Allah descends during the last portion of the night while reading Quraan and ending that by asking for forgiveness and repenting.
- We should sit with the beloved and sincere pious people, benefiting from the most fruitful of their speech. We should not to speak unless speaking is more beneficial and we know that it will improve our state and be beneficial to others
- We should remain away from every cause that comes between our heart and Allah.
